Hi, I’m Serenity Reininger and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in North Carolina specializing in helping individuals and couples build healthier relationships, improve communication, and navigate life’s transitions with greater clarity and confidence.

I work with people who are exhausted from overthinking every conversation, constantly questioning whether they are “too much” or “not enough,” and feeling stuck in patterns of people-pleasing, self-doubt, and emotional overwhelm. Many of my clients are used to prioritizing everyone else’s needs while feeling disconnected from their own. Others find themselves walking on eggshells in relationships, repeating the same arguments without resolution, or struggling to feel truly seen and understood. I help individuals learn to trust themselves again, communicate more confidently, and set boundaries without guilt. Together, we work toward untangling the pressure to be everything for everyone and reconnecting with what feels authentic and meaningful to them.

I also support couples who feel disconnected, stuck in recurring conflict, or more like roommates than partners. I have completed Level 1 training in the Gottman Method and am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), two evidence-based approaches that help couples strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and create more secure, fulfilling relationships. I am especially passionate about helping couples repair emotional connection and move beyond painful cycles that keep them feeling distant from one another.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I show up as a real human in the room—compassionate, curious, and willing to bring humor into the process when it helps. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you; it is about helping you feel more grounded, connected, and fully yourself.
