Jerry Dye, LCMHC
Outpatient Therapist in Baxter Village
Works with kids and adolescents, individuals 18+, and Couples
Hi! My name is Jerry Dye, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina and a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina. My experience has been in providing counseling and psychotherapy services to adults, children/adolescents, couples and families.
A little more about me: I was born and raised in Georgia. I earned my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University-Atlanta. In 2011, I moved to Charlotte and earned my Master of Education degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Winthrop University. I have more than 20 years’ experience teaching psychology and counseling in various colleges and universities and eight years in clinical practice. My clinical experience has been gained through offering mental health treatment in community mental health agencies and private firms. My practice includes working with adults, children/adolescents, couples, and families. I specialize in offering therapy for anxiety, depression, anger management skills, and executive functioning skills for those diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. I also have been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) from Behavioral Tech: A Linehan Institute Training Company in Seattle, WA, and I offer DBT skills and therapy to children/adolescents and adults. My other clinical interests include working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, and I have extensive experience providing therapeutic services to people who work in the aviation industry.
I utilize an eclectic approach in working with my clients, offering evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Theory, DBT, and Solution-Focused therapy techniques. I view the therapeutic process as a collaborative one, working with my clients not to give them answers they need, but assisting them in finding their own answers to the issues bringing them to therapy. My goal is to create a safe and comfortable environment for us to do this important work.
I applaud you for taking this first step to seeking the answers you need and creating the life you would like to lead. The next step is easy!
