Hello! I'm Lauren, an LCSW with experience providing psychotherapy to children, teens, young adults, and adults. I identify as Chinese American, and I have experience working with people with a vast array of racial, ethnic, gender, sexual, and religious identities.

I strive to maintain an inclusive, brave space. I encourage therapy to be a brave place, and not a safe place, because it is very brave to show up and work on getting out of the safety of the known and to work towards fostering a better future for yourself.

I specialize in working with people who want to work towards bettering their relationship with themselves and others, with those struggling to maintain a balance between respecting individual needs within the context of cultural and family expectations, with those who have experienced trauma and/or loss, and with people who are looking to build and expand upon their existing coping skills. My clinical practice has been informed by Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Play Therapy.

I also have extensive experience working with anxiety/ panic disorders, depressive disorders, ADD/ADHD, and trauma/ adjustment disorders.

I am a strong believer that communication is key in the therapeutic relationship, and I invite my clients to let me know what is and is not working for them. I believe that therapy should be an empowering and restorative experience for you.
